I bought myself a 120GB external HD two weeks ago and have been catching up on some series I previously didn't have the room to follow along with. :D Ah~ so nice, not constantly hovering around 1-2 GB of free space~ Although some old stuff have been removed from bots so I have to resort to BT. *hate*

My impression after reading the latest 10 scanlated chapters of Death Note: Is it just me or does Light seem pushed into the background and it's all about teh Misa? Not that I mind. She's the cutest thing ever and beats out Light in my faves list now. *luffs* The idol-y image suits her better than the EGL look. And damn if she didn't make me stop loathing L just by saying she likes him. >_> I think I'll rejoin the comm now in hopes that someone will post a Namikawa/Midou fanfic, with Shimura tossed in there somewhere, maybe. XDD |

Thank you, otah~! ♥ It arrived yesterday, and I had much fun looking through the booklets that I cannot read. XDD I think it's the first time seeing Sugita Tomokazu's picture, too. And in response to your other comment, I cannot believe such a big Nitta Yuuka fan has never heard the Haru wo Daiteita drama! O: So here's the fourth, since it's the one with Morikubo. Let me know if you want the others. ^_^
Anyway, I'm getting dragged into the Escape dramas because of a certain someone *coughAliciacough* <3 and finding out that there's a ridiculous number of seiyuu that I have to add to the 'fangirling over' list. But especially Ogihara Hideki, the reversible manwhore who's paired up with EVERYONE and apparently even lusts after himself. XDD I didn't like him so much in first half of 3 though. I prefer him seme and being lusted after. And NariKen sounds like a total child molester there.

I think I shall leave you now and go take back my regular journal. I could stay here all my life, really, but I think nagibook would appreciate to get her name back. And I did promise her I'd do it Tuesday. *sniff*
I didn't comment on the f-list as much as I had hoped to, partly because I was out of town most of last week and partly because I'm chickenshit. But it was lovely -- I got to indulge my old ZukaFuji obsession, see lovely fanart of characters I didn't recognize, stare blankly at all the Naruto yaoi I couldn't get into to save my life, read about something as foreign to me as Tae Kwan Do (I think it was? Or was it karate? Damn, I know nothing about martial arts), have my old f-list stalk me (OMG where are you people coming from?!), look at pretty flowers, drool over sexey Fuma icons, bang my head against the wall a few times at the prospects of a TeniPuri movie, and ...
The only regret I have is that I didn't seem to spot any wank in any of the communities. Or did I just miss it? I want waaaaaank. But oh well, you can't win them all.

I just read Hoshi no hayasa de kaketeku, the first story of three in Tanikawa Fumiko's newest tankobon of the same title. It made me weep. It was so good I'm going to save the other two stories for tomorrow, just to have something I know to be good to read.
She draws so beautifully and writes so delicately.

The modem works! LJ is up! W00t!
Except I hate this computer and the E-key doesn't work properly. I'd write a long, passive-aggressive entry about how RL sucks buckets right now if I actually likd typing on this computer, so I guess you guys are lucky.
I have nothing fannish to write, either. I've had Sakurai Takahiro songs on repeat in my brain, making me laugh at the most inappropriate times. I probably shouldn't have romanizd three of them right before leaving.

Randomly: I never figured out what the difference between "stealing" fanart and "stealing" dojinshi pictures was. I admit I have made one or two icons with dojinshi pics (but only because they were Kouga Yun! My Kouga Yun obsession makes me do odd things!), but really, to me both are pretty equally "bad". What, really, is the difference? I'm genuinly curious. If you have an opinion, please tell me.

The f-list is so full of tenipuri_yaoi. I haven't read that comm since ... August 2003, or something, when it was miniscule compared to now (like, two-digit members!!11!). I seem to recall that every other entry reeked of "i r teh BNF!1!!" God knows why. I guess TeniPuri brings out that side in people.

Starting Saturday 18:00 Pacific Standard Time*, this journal will be run by hasunoutena. She will write the entries, read the friend list, and visit my communities. What this means is:
If you keep anything under friendslock that you are uncomfortable about letting hasunoutena read, I suggest you unfriend me within 48 hours.
If you think this is crazy and wish to unfriend me for good, that's okay. I'd like to say, though, that hasunoutena is a great individual and will not harm anyone on my friendslist intentionally. Seriously, I believe her when she says she won't read my old super sekrit private-locked posts, so the trust runs pretty deep. Play nice with her and comment like you never do on my own entries? XDD
We will switch back journals within ... a week, probably. Maybe we will decide on a longer period. At any rate, we will keep you informed.

hasunoutena is Teh Evil for sending me this. I spent the better half of yesterday playing, trying to unlock stuff and collect items. And damn, if it wasn't hella fun and addicting.
I'll write something for konjiki, once I can narrow down the screencaps I've madly been taking to a few (but they're all so cute!) and think of something semi-concise to say. In the meantime, I'll just spam my own journal with random gushing detail.
First, I love how the mamono and bookkeeper fight together, and every move is just perfect for each character. For example, Sherie bitchslaps everyone who comes near while Shiori simply cowers behind her book... but her mamono makes up for her wussiness in strength and aggressiveness. There were times I was cursing the pair out loud because Koruru won't stop coming, and her attacks/spells almost always overpower anyone else's. Koruru/Shiori's the hardest opponents, IMO, even more so than Zeon. x_x

That was all over the place. ToT I need to learn how to gameblog. Oh yeah, Alicia... if you want, I can email you my saved data file. If you swap it in for yours, you can at least try all the characters I've gotten, in the vs mode, or play the mini-games. I know you're dying to see Folgore do his dorky dance in the 00F game. ;D
One last thought... it would have been cool if they had used the character pair songs for the game, even if only four pairs have songs. =PP

Watched 10 episodes of Peace Maker Kurogane... is it really a shounen show? More of an observation than a complaint since those night fight scenes really hurt my eyes, but Yamazaki's the only one who does anything vaguely Shinsengumi-related. The rest of the cast could be dropped into an episode of Koko wa Greenwood without anyone noticing a difference.
Okita bugged the heck out of me the first couple episodes. He's like... a total girl. -_-;; But I did a 180 and stopped griping once Yamazaki cross-dressed, because finding fault with a Sakurai-character is impossible at the moment. So far, Saya's my fave though. She reminds me of Kisa from Furuba. ;-; I wanna glomp her.
I'm either getting better at spotting seiyuu or PMK is a packed with the major ones. It's the first time I could identify about half the cast, and within a few spoken lines, too. I have a feeling this is not something I should be proud of. ._. |

So after getting some unreadably labeled KnGB character songs, I tried looking up tracklists... to no avail. Then I tried looking up fansites. None. Shrines? None. Comms? None. MLs? None. As far as I can tell, there's no information for the series in English. The only thing I could find not related to fansub downloads, game, or occasional song lyric, was this cast list.
There's actually a lot of well-known seiyuu in it - Okiayu Ryoutarou, Morikubo Shoutarou, Kaida Yuki, Takeuchi Junko, Seki Toshihiko, Yamaguchi Kappei, Suwabe Junichi, Ishida Akira, Midorikawa Hikaru - but going by the theme song and what I've seen so far, I'm guessing most of them will have one-time appearances.
The ones who come out for more episodes - Ohtani Ikue, Sakurai Takahiro (Fakir from Princess Tutu), Takahashi Hiroki (Eiji from PoT), Kugimiya Rie (Al from FMA), Yao Kazuki (Jango from One Piece XD XD - a lot of the cast's also been in 1P and/or FMA) - aren't exactly unknowns either. It's a good series. The premise is interesting. I never feel like it's dragging. It has cute characters. It has godawful songs that make my ears bleed the coolest songs evah sung by an anime chara. It makes me laugh and cry (did both again with the latest ep ^O^ T_T ^O^ T_T ^O^). Lots of people download every release. So why is it so hard to find the Gasshu rabu? ;-; Maybe I was spoiled by the TeniPuri fandom, where every little fan merchandise is shared and spread so quickly that it drops into my lap before I even know of its existence.

I was going to do this big write-up now that I've finally kicked myself into watching the second season of Princess Tutu, but I'm not good at articulating things. So in brief, things I'm thrilled about: Rue's character development as apart from Kraehe (chibi Rue~! <3<3<3) and Mytho going completely nuts. I liked his emotionless self but I absolutely love him after he changed.
The sight of an anorexic prettyboy in tights fighting by pirouetting on a cloud of sakura should have struck me as incredibly gay or stupid, but not once did I get the urge to even snicker. Maybe it was the music. Or how much I was rooting for Mytho to save his princess. Absolutely charming.
The ending was not what I expected when I first started watching, but maybe that's why I adored it so much... although to tell the truth, I think it could have ended a number of different ways, and I would have thought it perfect each instance. I wanted to be lead wherever the story takes me and I wouldn't want to change any of the character's relationship with another character. Reading any fanfics - even an introspective character study or post-anime fic - would ruin it for me, I think.
Guess I'll go finish GetBackers before I start dloading PMK. Anyone willing to send me the character songs via streamload or AIM or know where I can get them? I only have Ginji's and Shido's so would really appreciate anything else... I have OST 1-2 and all the OP and ED singles to offer in return, among other things. |

My old email was getting hit by spam and the various nicks I'd received from OL friends were way too common. At the time, I was obsessed with WK, and decided to name my then-laptop (a HP omnibook) "omibook" and go by that. But when I tried to sign up for something, it was already taken. So I decided to go with "nagibook" since Nagi's the better hacker anyway. It sounds stupid but 8 characters is perfect for most things, there's little chance of people misspelling it, and I never have to affix numbers to create accounts.
V. How long have you been using the handle?
